November is often seen as a mix of holiday preparations and hunkering down for the winter. But after municipal elections this month and amid construction all over the city, change and growth is in the air.
The next meeting of the 2015-16 year will be Wednesday, November 18, 6 pm at The Amos Bull House, 59 South Prospect Street. Enter through the double glass doors and proceed to the second floor. There is parking nearby, or if you are walking, you can cut through from Main Street via the Butler-McCook House gardens. Many thanks to Connecticut Landmarks for hosting. After the October meeting of the SoDo NRZ, the Board was polled by email with regards to sending a letter in support of the DPW's proposed plan for the redesign of Buckingham Square Park. Twelve members voted, 10 in favor and 2 opposed with specific reservations. A letter of support was sent to DPW with the request that the proposed design be modified so that pathways and points of entry/exit terminate at [existing, pedestrian-friendly] sidewalks on Main and Buckingham Streets. The SoDo NRZ Board has an opening for a new member who works, lives or represents a social service agency in SoDo. If you are interested in joining the Board, or volunteering for a project or serving on a committee, please email SoDoNRZ@gmail.com.
